About Me

Hi everyone,

I am a recent college graduate (May 2010) who has a long standing love affair with nail polish. I can remember my first professional manicure for my uncles wedding where I chose a lilac color to compliment my short, clean nails. This may be where my love for nail polish began, but I can't say for sure. I started collecting nail polishes in high school, and really expanded my collection in college.

Currently I own 65+ polishes and I even have my own my plastic shelving (like you would see at the nail salon.) My colors are primarily Essie and OPI but I have a few other brands mixed in as well. My favorite color is purple so I pretty much own every shade of purple that you can imagine, ranging from Sexy
Divide to Funky Dunky. Every new collection that comes out usually has at least one or two shades that I fall in love with.  I'll often go after discontinued polishes to add to my collection, like my all-time favorite: Black Tie Optional by OPI (which, I recently got my paws on!)

Some people collect shoes, some collect purses, and while I have plenty of shoes and purses, nail polishes are, to me, the perfect little pick-me-up and my favorite item to collect. Manicured nails and toes are the most important accessory to any outfit. In my eyes, if my nails aren't polished to perfection, then my outfit could never possibly be complete.

I painted nails in college for a small fee, although I am not a licensed nail technician; I was the owner of Nails by Liz, based out of my apartment in Suburban Philadelphia. As a graduate of Bryn Mawr College, a Seven Sisters school where fashionable and polished looks were a rarity amongst the student body, I was somewhat of an anomaly on campus. However, this only fueled my desire to spread the joy that nail polish brings throughout the college.

I am well aware of other successful nail polish blogs on the Internet today, but I feel that my blog, which will be fleshed out with other posts about fashion, and goings-on in Philadelphia's fashion and beauty world, etc., will stand-out. I hope this first entry piques your interest and that you will be back for more.

Enjoy!
Liz
